RIO

Last Saturday I took a mini road trip Gaithersburg, MD to meet up with my one and only, bestest-friend in the entire world, sissta fo life, Carly! Carly moved to Florida after graduation last year so I don't get to frolic with her as much as I used to, which is why I was super excited when I found she would be in Maryland for a RIO fitness class.

RIO, Real Intense Outcomes, is a hot new dance-fitness class that is taking Miami by storm. My lovaface Carly is so good at it that they asked her to help out at RIO expo's around the country. RIO is similar to zumba, but even better! The dance moves are way more intense and involve lots of booty shaking...sign me up!

So Carly's madre (basically my 2nd mother) and I took a little road trip down Maryland to reunite with Carly and shake our bottoms to some crazy Brazillian musica! The RIO Expo was a four hour dance class and I loved every minute of it--it was a total full body work out.

Ruben and Flori can dance this crazy brazillian dance called Capoeira, basically a mix between martial arts and acrobatics...it's INTENSE!
After RIO we consumed our body weight in Spanish food and proceeded to spend the rest of night being gypsies in the middle of bumble-fuck-Maryland...aka we frolicked around till we ended up at some townie bar that had karaoke, took way too many shots, did about 50 cart wheels, met some random orioles fans and just had a blast with the rest of the RIO dance team.
Any weekend spent with the DiLella's is always a memorable weekend and this one was no different. It was so great getting to hang out with Carly again and Mrs. DiLella was a hoot as always! Can't wait to save up some money and visit Carly in Miami!

The Black Keys Rocked My World

In case you don't know this already, I'm completely obsessed with the new Black Key's album El Camino. If you haven't listened to it already I highly suggest you do, it will change your life and have you dancing all over your room. The first time I heard the whole album was almost as good as listening to Led Zeppelin IV--amazing and heavenly. I was so excited when Kevin bought me the tickets for Christmas; the past two months couldn't fly by fast enough!

Kevin and I arrived just in time to grab a (large) beer and plot ourselves center stage, awaiting The Black Keys to rock our world.
Unfortunately I left my camera at home thinking I wouldn't be able to get it through security at the Wells Fargo Center but they didn't even do a pat-down at the door. Slightly annoying since my iphone isn't snazzy enough to take good photos or videos (#firstworldproblems). So enjoy my far away slightly blurry photos...
The Black Keys came out strong with Howlin' For You and Next Girl off their previous album, Brothers, before moving onto the new El Camino songs (full set list below). From start to finish The Black Keys had the crowd, myself very much included, dancing all over the place. This rock-star duo certainly knows how to put on a great rock show covering most of the songs off the new album and mixing in some older classics.
Overall, I thought the concert was awesome! I wish they had played all of the songs off the new album (Sister, Hell of a Season, Mind Eraser, and Stop Stop were not played), but even still there was a great mix of new and old to keep me groovin'. If only they were going to be at Bonnaroo again this year!
Oh, and shout out to the random guy who gave me a free beer! Black Key fans are pretty generous =)

Bad decisions...

All of these quotes describe me to my very core and remind me of all the fun adventures I have planned over the next couple months!

Happy Tuesday ツ

Bonnaroooooooooo!

FINALLY! After last Saturday's debacle of a ticket sale I have officially purchased my Bonnaroo 2012 ticket!
Though I'm a little annoyed I couldn't get the level four pricing I am still very excited to go to Bonnaroo this summer. I'm driving down with Kevin again AND I'm meeting my beautiful friend Stephanie down there! The lineup is pretty stacked (Radiohead, The Avett Brothers, The Shins, Dispatch, Ludacris, Ben Folds Five, Childish Gambino, The Civil Wars, Dawes, Delta Spirit, Alabama Shakes, The War on Drugs, and so much more!) and Bonnaroo is still planning to announce more bands soon. Plus I can already hear the silent disco calling my name...
Summer 2012 is going to be AMAZING =)

Things that make me happy...

This week has been a little hectic at work but it's almost Friday, which basically means it's the weekend and I'm happy for lots of things like...

1. My brand new pair of TOMS came in the mail! I've had my original TOMS for over 3 years now, so it was about time for a new pair! One For One
2. Finally getting a laptop at work, a Macbook no less!
3. Playing board games with Kevin, and winning of course! I am the Monopoly Master, or in this case the Ghettopoly Pimp ;)
4. Nights out with awesome friends
5. "Fly" Kicks and other great occurrences on the subway

Life is good and the weekend is almost here! Cheers =)
